Our company was established in June 2006 to provide affordable complementary therapy in the Somerset area. We are a Community Interest Company (CIC) – this means that our business is run for the benefit of the community, rather than for private profit.
The Blue Wren Project CIC is run by a board of five voluntary directors. We all work together to make sure that our company meets its aims and objectives.
We believe that complementary healthcare should be available to all.
Our aim is to provide high-quality, affordable complementary healthcare in the community. We particularly hope to benefit those people in the community who might otherwise find it difficult to access this kind of gentle supportive therapy, for example children with disabilities, older people, those with disability or care requirements, ill health, addictions or social problems.
You can find out about CICS from the CIC Regulator Website: www.cicregulator.gov.uk (Clicking on the link will open a new browser window.)
A CIC is a new type of company, designed for social enterprises that want to use their profits and assets for the public good. The CIC Regulator must be satisfied that the company is working for the benefit of the community.
